This review is from: Huffy #26212 26 Inch Ladies' Granite Bike in Twilight Teal Metallic (Sports) I've shopped several websites looking for a comfort bike for my wife. When I went into the local bike shop, they wanted to sell me a $500 comfort bike and told me anything from a department store would be a mistake. I was looking for a simple, classic, looking comfort bike that wouldn't fall apart, and would be able to take the abuse of someone who only is an occasional bike rider. My wife was very pleased with the bike. It allows her to pull our son in our trailer around the block a few times, and didn't cost me an arm and a leg. And according to her, it was a very comfortable ride.

Huffy is Poor Quality, June 24, 2002 By A Customer
= Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Huffy #26212 26 Inch Ladies' Granite Bike in Twilight Teal Metallic (Sports) [$$$] might sound like a good deal, but you're really digging yourself into a huge hole if you jump on this. I work at a small bike shop and would like to share a couple things with you. First of all, you need to be fitted for a bike. Yes, the size says 26" but that means 26" wheels. That's pretty standard for any adult bike. You need to make sure the frame size fits you (frames vary anywhere from 13"-23"). If that top bar is too high, you can potentially hurt yourself. Second, steel bikes are HEAVY! Which, I guess if you want a really hard workout and don't care too much about comfort, is fine. I personally prefer aluminum frames because they are a ton lighter. (Try one out, you'll never go back to steel.)
Third, Huffy is not good quality. We have little respect for Huffys at the shop. The parts are poor and many times unsafe.
Lastly, if you do decide to buy a Huffy (or any other department store brand), make sure a professional bike mechanic puts it together for... Read more
